Well, bless your heart!

Wonder woman, I am not! Who knew that so many things could go wrong in under 10 min.? Deane is on military duty for a month, so I feel like a single parent. I have felt like that before, the last time the military took him away. Nobody can prepare you for this however. We left to come up and stay with family while he was away, so here we are. I am learning so much, and having fun...most of the time. There are sometimes that I would like to ask to leave and come back another day. I know that my answer would be, not yet, you would never want to come back. Here I am..today,it all started with dinner. Gabriella was not happy, no matter what I gave her to try. She tried some watermelon tonight that my sister-in-law grew in her garden. She ate it hand over fist! She was still crying. I took her upstairs to get her ready for bed, and this is where it all happened. I was running the water in the tub, and made sure I had everything I needed to go through the bedtime routine. She loves the water, but apparently not tonight. She screamed through all of it. While she was screaming though, Nephi decided to come upstairs and see what was going on.  He thought he could kill two birds with one stone and get in clothes and all! I finished with Gabriella and wrapped her in a towel and put her on one hip. With the other arm I washed nephi, rinsed him off, and then he said he wanted to 'swim.' FINE...I went to the bedroom (right next door to the bathroom) and got Gabriella dressed and ready for bed, when I hear, "mom, I have to pee!" I pick her up, and go to the bathroom, help him out...and he falls to the floor. He doesn't cry, but got frustrated that he fell and it prolonged him holding it in. He does his thing, and then looks to me and says, "mom, I have to poop!" Since he is standing so he can do his first business, I need to put down the seat so he can do his second business. He was crying and screaming not to do that, but I insisted, because I didn't want to fish him out of his own...(well, you can fill that in.) Much to my dismay, he was already going, and really couldn't wait! So now he has poop all over the floor on the little carpet thing that is in front of the toilet. (i have no idea what the name of it is) Baby on hip, I reach over to the toilet paper, tare some off and start picking it up. As I am dumping the dump, my finger goes through the POOP! Now I have it all over my fingers.  Meanwhile now both children are screaming. I wash my hand, I get it cleaned up and Nephi gets down, and finds out that in the downloading process he STEPPED in his own (fill in the blank!) I wipe up the stuff, clean up the stuff and walk into the hallway just to find a staple in the carpet with my heal!!! (did you know that you don't need a stapeler to get the thing halfway into your heal????) I pull the thing out and get Nephi's toothbrush and toothpaste from the bathroom, to take two screaming children, into the bedroom. I brushed Nephi's teeth, we said prayers, (all while Gabriella is still crying) and he climbed into bed. I went over to the bed Gabriella and I are sleeping in to feed her. My little Nephi with his sweet voice said, "good night momma." (of course that was after he shushed me for being to loud when I told him I loved him." I fed Gabriella, who was asleep in 5 min. and so was Nephi. Now I am sitting here trying to balance my checkbook and realize I can't...I have forgotten the ID and Password to our bank! Now I am eating ice cream and laughing about what has just taken place. However, not too hard, because it is still just to fresh! (no pun intented) So I just wanted to 'whine'.....now I am done!

Random thought

I figured out why, a long time ago why they didn't allow fathers in the delivery rooms. They thought that it was inappropriate. Well, now they let them in and if you don't have the "happy drugs" it gets inappropriate to hear the things that come out of the mother's mouth. Good dicision? Some mother's go into detail how their child was concieved! Some mothers, if you had a bleeper to cover up the bad words, it would be like listening to mores code. I don't think any woman going natrual birth is going to trun to her husband and say, "I love you so much for helping me to get here. Thank you for letting me squeeze your havd until it turns purple, and leave scares from scratching you with my fingernails." Maybe that's why he asks his wife to cut her nails off before the due date. Another on you won't hear her say is, "Hey honey, can we do this again?" Just a thought...

Mom's Hideout!

To me, it is the only place to find some (if any) peace. The door doesn't close, I can't see through the window that is too high, but for the most part I can sit down and read or write, play games (wordfinds are my favorite) or sleep (sometimes). Every now and then however a little someone will press their face between the doorway and ask a question pertaining to homework, if they can watch a movie, go outside, or what to eat. Sometimes, I get the added bonus of a different kind when I try and close my door and still get, "will you read this to me?" Then , (like a drive through window) a book appears from the great beyond. I will either read it, or tell them to go and ask someone else, because I am a little busy. Then I would get a question like, "Mom, what are you doing in there?" or, "when are you coming out?" or "can I come in too?" My answers...making a cake, when I come out, and absolutely not! So, while I am meditating, I try and not really think at all. The joys of being in the bathroom. I want to hang a sign that says, "Having a hard day? Come on in and let it all out!"

a round about way

I think I may be the most gullible person, and I will tell you why.... Well, when Deane and I got married and moved to Spokane, Washington, we moved downtown to a little apartment. It was anything but quiet, but it was ours.

Aparently, he thought he was bored, so he thought to himself, "let's have fun with Sophie." We went driving, and there was a round a bout. I had never seen one before, so I just waited to see how to drive 'through' them....or so I thought. Deane drove around the round a bout not once, not twice, but three times. I thought that was very strange, so I asked him about it. He simply said, "that is how you drive here." Everytime we went out he went down the same road, and everytime he would go faster and faster! I was holding on to the handle on the door thinking, "this is the dumbest law ever!" Well, his brother and I were over there and he took me to the same spot, and did the same thing. Another time a friend of ours was driving us to a baby shower and just happened to drive down this street. She did not drive around the round a bout three times, so I told her we were going to get into trouble. She asked why and I told her about the malicious...I mean sweet, wonderful guys that told me that the law here was to drive around those three times.

You should have seen her face...I wanted to jump out of the truck! She just smiled and then I knew that they both had 'taken me for a ride!'

Who knew I couldn't trust my FAMILY!
So I know now in 'a round about' way ALWAYS ask.....someone else.
